I took 2 capsules along with some cereal right before going.

About an hour into the get together I could barely remain conscious so I headed home grabbing a coupe items from the grocery store en route.

When I got home - at about 9AM I immediately laid down and did not wake up again until 1:00 PM.

Throughout the day I may have been a little more focused but not noticeably so.

I will likely end the 30 day experiment here. If this is not the case - keep an eye out for a day 8 update tomorrow.D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-7218351459526504032016-08-27T09:15:00.000-07:002016-08-27T09:15:03.063-07:00Nootropics 30 day trial Day 6: Cavalier - Cognitive & Stress Support. mixed results againAfter getting a good 8-9 hours or sleep from the prior day. I took the pills reluctantly on the 6th day.

I felt slightly more focused than normal but nothing compared to my 2nd day where I was ultra focused on the tasks at hand. I also had a little bit of cereal before taking the pills.

I'm writing this on the 7th day after having far too little sleep again. I popped pills anyway for consisentcy and will advise on results after I take a much needed catnap - now.D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-6715340729366017212016-08-26T01:58:00.001-07:002016-08-26T01:58:26.359-07:00Nootropics 30 day trial Day 5: Cavalier - Cognitive & Stress Support. (what a crash) So today/yesterday was a bit different. I went to bed around 10:00 AM on Wednesday night only to wake up around 1:00 AM Thursday. I immediately tried to go back to sleep but my mind was amped up to a degree where my thoughts would not calm down enough for me to sleep after trying to sleep for 2 hours I decided to do the next best thing and I went to the gym...at 3:00 AM. I finished around 4:00 - got home around 4:45 after getting some gas and tried to rest my body for an hour but the thoughts wouldn't let me.

Long story short I felt like I was going to pass out around 2:00 PM at work but somehow powered through. After work met with a freelance client/friend - conversation was interesting and engaging so I didn't nod off there.

For some reason I thought it might be a good idea to go to a networking event that was on the way home (kind of) from the clients house. As soon as I walked in my body and brain screamed in unison "you can't do this" and I discreetly walked out.

When I got home I had a snack or two and then tried to take a catnap at 7:00pm thinking I would wake by 9or 10pm. I was woken from a call from Papua New Guinea at 1:00 AM from my wife and son.

As I look at my clock right now it is 1:52 AM Friday morning. I will give the drug the benefit of the doubt this weekend I think and then may restrict use after that for safety's sake. I sleep as little as it is and depriving me of sleep further or largely altering my sleep patterns I believe is "no bueno".

I will now try to eat something and attempt to go back to sleep. Thanks for reading.

D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-91098796959842881262016-08-24T21:03:00.001-07:002016-08-24T21:03:18.520-07:00Nootropics 30 day trial Day 4: Cavalier - Cognitive & Stress Support.What a difference a day makes. OK, a day and sleep.

So I got about 7 hours of sleep last night and I tried the Cavalier - Cognitive & Stress Support formula again this morning with no food and I was again back on track as far as focus goes. I popped the drug as I went to work at about 6AM on a completely empty stomach and I felt much more on task today and also much less irritable. I was also less paranoid than I typically am.

Today I was pretty alert the full time at work and still felt pretty good until about 5PM or so. (I got off at 2:45PM)

The effects started to wear off around 5:30 or 6PM. I'm encouraged and will continue to try it with water and no initial food in the morning - although I don't recommend you try this as there is likely a reason they recommend it is ingested along with food.D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-84704718160744908902016-08-23T18:55:00.002-07:002016-08-23T18:57:30.738-07:00Nootropics 30 day trial Day 3: Cavalier - Cognitive & Stress Support.Today, Day 3, definitely didn't have awesome results but at the same time I failed to get my 6 hours of sleep as I was attempting to do.

I took the pills this morning and ate some yogurt at essentially the same time and had different effects from yesterday.

Shortly after taking the pills my heart began beating a bit faster and about an hour later that accelerated heart beat subsided.

As far as focus - as normal- for me it was gone - out the door. I could not keep my attention for the majority of the day.

So far the results seem very sporadic for this product.D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-79195246063300619122016-08-22T18:59:00.000-07:002016-08-22T19:05:47.415-07:00 Nootropics 30 day trial Day 2: Cavalier - Cognitive & Stress Support.Today, I'll admit the test with "Cavalier" went a little different.

I popped the (2) pills just before going to work. I didn't notice anything immediate but my mindset was considerably more focused and much less "Monkey-Mind" than a typical day at work.

By contrast at a typical day at work I am usually distracted by anything and everything to a very negative degree but today I stayed on my task and actually got past a block I had editing video before by simply remaining focused.

I even skipped my usual lunch so I could power through and get some work done.

One thing I definitely did not do was pop the pills with a full meal. I had some yogurt shortly after popping the pill (maybe 20 minutes later) but I did not eat something before swallowing the pills. On the bottle it clearly suggests "Take One Serving (2 capsules) once daily with Food."

To be honest yesterday I had a nice 2- 2.5 course meal worth of 1/2 healthy & 1/2 really unhealthy food which may have affected how the first serving interacted with my body chemistry.

One definite side effect was that about 10 minutes after leaving work it was as if both brain and body united and said "We're done with this sh*t" and I became noticeably tired & less focused.

This could possibly be explained away by me only getting 4 hours of sleep last night (my average is 6 hours) so I will have to try getting some sleep tonight and see if that issue still lingers tomorrow assuming I do get my standard 6 hours of sleep in.

After talking to a friend/potential client shortly after arriving home about an hour later I was extremely exhausted. After our conversation I decided to lay down for a moment instead of sitting up for meditation and fell right to sleep - waking myself an hour and a half later.

I will update again tomorrow.D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-55514834557708800652016-08-21T23:10:00.001-07:002016-08-21T23:10:32.914-07:00Nootropics 30 day trial Day 1: Cavalier - Cognitive & Stress Support. So today I tried out two tablets of the supposed nootropic "Cavalier - Gentleman's product - Daily Cognitive and Stress support.

I popped two pills, waited and didn't really notice any marked brain function increase or tingling as I have with other products. There might have been a slight increase in brain function but it would have been distorted by me finishing my half-drunken can of my Monster energy drink shortly (30 minutes or so) after digesting the two tablets.

My brain was thinking more rapidly but primarily due to the energy drink I believe.

I will have a more controlled test tomorrow when I wake up. I will report at the end of the day.D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-39395271194863202122015-07-06T06:00:00.000-07:002015-07-06T06:00:08.067-07:00MMV: Monday's Motivational Video - Hustle For SuccessD R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-65312187304355999132015-06-29T06:00:00.000-07:002015-06-29T06:00:05.679-07:00MMV: Monday's Motivational Video - You Will Win (Red Frost) D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-9014443985586845022015-06-22T06:00:00.000-07:002015-06-22T06:00:04.130-07:00MMV: Monday's Motivational Video - Dreams Never Die D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-36514382479747604662015-06-15T06:00:00.000-07:002015-06-15T06:00:05.053-07:00MMV: Monday's motivational Video - Greg Plitt (Red Frost) D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-18046543156959903002015-06-08T06:00:00.000-07:002015-06-08T06:00:04.256-07:00MMV: Monday's Motivational Video - Creative Genius D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-63525973785349395262015-06-01T06:00:00.000-07:002015-06-01T06:00:10.164-07:00MMV: Monday's Motivational Video - Don't Listen to The Naysayers (Red Frost) D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-19019046058083186962015-05-25T06:00:00.000-07:002015-05-25T06:00:06.138-07:00MMV: Monday's Motivational Video - Work Ethic D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-18598593626793207512015-05-18T06:00:00.000-07:002015-05-18T06:00:01.064-07:00MMV: Monday's Motivational Video - Purpose (Red Frost) D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-17140387391699233552015-05-13T06:00:00.000-07:002015-05-13T11:21:26.911-07:00The top 5 Business Periscopers - you should follow:

So as some may already know and others are finding out now, I have become addicted to Periscope.tv the new live streaming app that Twitter bought in March for a reported $100 Million dollars. Methinks they got a steal.

This app is in it's infancy but has the potential to become the new youtube or at least the replacement for Vine.

That being said, I've been curating a few of my favorite Persicopers over the month or so I've been "'scoping" and wanted to share these great gentlemen (sorry no ladies thus far) that share great tips on the regular for navigating this new potentially game-changing app.

Here we go in no particular order:

1) Alex Pettit @Alexpettitt British youngin' who knows his stuff as far as periscope goes - has a "heart count" in the millions.

2) Grant Cardone @GrantCadone American (Miami) sales guru whose team was on it as soon as the new app came out. Side note, his account was (allegedly?) one of the accounts shut down for broadcasting the Mayweather vs Pacquiao over livestream much to HBO's dismay I'm sure.

3) Robert C Stern @RobertCStern American social media guy from New Jersey who gives social media tips here and there and most recently attempted to livestream for 24 hours straight without stopping. Last I checked, the signal faded out at about 22 hours but I could be wrong.

4) Mark Shaw @markshaw Is a fast talking British guy who typically starts each podcast with his @CostaCoffee cup. Most of his tips are right on though and he typically keeps his "scope episodes" to about 5 minutes or less.

5) Ryan Steinolfson @ryansteinolfson Is a Southern California internet marketing guy who appears to know his stuff as far as the business aspect of Periscope continues to evolve.

OK so there's my quick list - check them out - and let me know what you think of their scopes - or even mine @Motivating_Mins in the comments below. FIREby49http://www.blogger.com/profile/01554360843199767688noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-59436301144299153362015-05-11T06:00:00.000-07:002015-05-11T06:00:00.048-07:00MMV: Monday's Motivational Video - Your Mind Is the Battleground (Red Frost) D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-27823981493598105202015-05-04T06:00:00.000-07:002015-06-14T07:00:22.280-07:00MMV: Monday's Motivational Video - Why Do We Fall - Manteusz M (oldie but goodie) D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-64560679342713440512015-04-27T06:00:00.000-07:002015-04-27T15:15:18.719-07:00MMV: Monday's Motivational Video - Don't Waste Your Life (Red Frost)D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5021899848702712759.post-20664581834685134142015-04-23T12:15:00.000-07:002015-04-23T13:02:44.750-07:00 Top 5 things I learned at the New Media Expo (hint: Periscope is involved) -Thought for Thursday

So last week, I spent the majority of my time in Las Vegas at one of the best conferences I've ever attended. The New Media Expo (formerly blog world) #NMX is a conference that focuses primarily on content creators - Such as Bloggers, Vloggers/Web Video and Podcasters.

Here are my top 5 key takeaways from the conference - hopefully they help:

1) NEWSFLASH: Podcasting is on the rise - Mignon Fogarty (@GrammarGirl), Cliff Ravenscraft (@GSPN) and Vernon Ross (@RossPR) all spoke about the importance of podcasting in the past few years. What some refer to as "internet radio" is beginning to replace peoples radio listening habits as more and more people look for ways to learn or be entertained without having to look at a screen.

2) If you're not a podcaster, focus on the visual - One thing that I learned at the conference which I somewhat olds news is that not only facebook, but also twitter and other social platforms are now focusing on videos first, pictures second and plain text last. So if and when you can - get a video. If no video at least have a picture on your blog post - preferably a professional picture that triggers an emotion.

3) Get organized - Syed Balkhi (@syedbalkhi) did a great presentation about how to increase your views to your website. His very first bullet point was about getting organized though. Rich Brooks (@therichbrooks) talked a lot about twitter but the key takeaway I got from his presentation is the importance of lists on twitter. You may already already know about this but once you have over 100 profiles that you're following on twitter, lists will help you keep track of groups such as "who is a friend", "people who are local" , people who are "thought leaders", etc - without having to sift through irrelevant tweets in your twitter feed.

4) Tell a story - Ekaterina Walter (@Ekaterina) talked about how important both visuals and stories are when trying to get a message across to an audience. She showed great examples of videos and photos done by large companies that engaged individuals emotionally rather than primarily promotional things about XYZ company. Since my mom passed away recently - this video definitely made me tear up a little. The Keynote speech by Pat Flynn (@PatFlynn) was both engaging and nostalgic with him actually entering the conference room in THE Bona fide Delorean from Back to the future.

My view of the Delorean from #NMX

5) Periscope & Meerkat will soon change mobile life -

So If you have an iphone and you haven't downloaded Periscope yet - weigh the decision carefully as you my never look away from your iphone screen again.

Periscope - along with it's first to market competitor Meerkat - are both apps that allow you to live-stream video from your phone and drop in on people live-streaming from their phone. This is, in my opinion, like Youtube on steroids - Periscope in particular is linked directly to twitter which allows you to check in on effervescent video from around the world. It's also different from Vine in that the video length can be as long or as short as possible and is happening right now, not being edited and then uploaded. In the past week I've become a little bit obsessed with this app (@Motivating_Mins) it seems like broadcasters in particular know about it but one of the most popular English speaking 'scopers is @BradmanTV a Minneapolis based Periscoper who is the last week has likely broadcasted on the most consistent basis - even broadcasting himself sleeping at night.

Big thanks to @StevenKArthur for tipping me off to this awesome app.

There were a bunch more lessons that were taught but those were definitely the top five. If you were at the event - please feel free to post what you learned in the comment section.

My mother passed away early Wednesday morning. Like most mothers - she meant so much to me. I've been racking my brain to think of what lessons she taught me - there were a few.

1) Knowledge is power: As early as I can recall my mother used to get me and my little brother ridiculously excited to go to the library. So much so to the point that when she would say "Do you guys want to go to the library?" we'd yell back "the library yay!" . By no small coincidence we're both bibliophiles today. You'd be hard pressed to find either of us at home or on a rip without a good book nearby or downloaded to a smartphone reader.

2) If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all - I try to stick to this rule but I slip occasionally. I've been told before though that instead of actually saying things I have a tendency to give "looks" that say more than enough.

3) Be a gentleman - From an early age I was taught to be respectful, open doors, say "yes ma'am" and "yes sir". In today's society I regularly question if this is worthwhile knowledge.

4) Be of service to others - For years my mother volunteered in the soup kitchen based out of her church's basement. She would occasionally pull me in as well to help. In my late 20's and early 30's every other Saturday morning I could be found there helping feed the homeless of Columbus Ohio. Sometimes I was greeted with smiles of gratitude other times I as met with complaints on the quality of the food. Every-time I felt accomplished once we completed a line full of 50-110 people.

5) Have faith - I struggle with this one. Logically I know my mother was in a lot of pain due to the ailments she was facing. From a more spiritual perspective I selfishly wanted to achieve more before my mother passed. I made some promises to her that were broken upon her passing.

With any luck she's watching over me and will continue to give guidance. D R Whitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018779815524519425noreply@blogger.com0
